Tales for Tails – Happy Endings & Furrever Homes.

Do you have a happy cat tale of your Little Paws cat that you’d like to share?

Send us an email to littlepawskr@gmail.com with the subject heading: Tales for Tails and your cat’s name.  Tell us the story of your new addition to your family, including their name, approx. age, adoption date, their funny quirks and habits and your favourite photo.  We’ll feature them (and you) on this page.

We all love happy endings and the best ones are those where our feline friends find their furrever homes!!

Hi Nat, I wanted you to know that Oscar has settled into our home like he’s been here all his life! We have three kids and he loves them all; he has to be the gentlest cat I’ve ever met. He loves being in the garden and playing with his toys, food and cuddles. He even handles baths with ease, very cool : )  He has a spot on our upstairs veranda where he sits quietly looking out at the world as if to contemplate his happiness, it’s lovely.   Thanks so much for looking after him until he could be ours. We all love him so much!  Our 2 year old daughter Summer has claimed Oscar as her own. I think he’s claimed her too.   Love Kim.

My mum and I had asked my grandparents, who we live with, to let us get a cat for a long time, and it wasn’t until my 17th birthday came around when they finally said yes. It was so exciting looking at all the different websites until we came across Little Paws. We were looking through all the photos and the stories of all the different varieties of kitty cats until we came across Mischa.

Looking at her sweet face and gorgeous green eyes, we decided to look at her story and we read more about her personality. Poor Mischa had been abused and left to fend for herself on the streets with her kittens and was being preyed on by dogs. Even though we were looking for a kitten, she seemed like the perfect match for our family, and after finally meeting her, which was very exciting, we were hooked and wanted to give her a forever home.

She adapted to our home fairly easily, and she was perfectly litter-trained. The first couple of nights we could hear her walking around, but then she settled down.  Even though my grandparents were apprehensive at first about getting her, they fell in love with her instantly. She always makes us laugh with her crazy antics and even though she is only 2 years old, she still acts like a kitten. She is very playful, and she loves exploring, looking for lizards or grasshoppers in the garden, sleeping and playing with her toys and us. She is affectionate, talkative, playful and she really loves being around us, and seeing what we’re doing. Getting Mischa was the best thing and we love her to bits. Thank You Casey and Little Paws.  Bella Souter and family.

ZEB AND LATTE:  I have always had a cat and when we moved to Australia, we discovered that not a lot of people around us appreciated cats. We paid a lot of money to bring our cat Bella over from NZ but unfortunately she passed away due to fluid around her heart.  J.T. (our first Aussie cat) was very sad so we got Missy from the local vet.  I was unaware of the damage that ticks can do especially to long furred cats!  We lost our beloved J.T. to his 3rd tick so we then bought Jimbo, our kitten because our boys were so upset.  After a ridiculous cost for just a domestic kitten from the pet shop and all the vet work to go along with it, Jimbo became my first cat ever to get killed on the road at 7 months old.  After the loss of J.T. and Jimbo all in one year, my boys, James 5 and Liam 2 ½, were very sad and so was I.  So then I started looking.  I came across Little Paws when searching on the internet for a new addition to our family.  Nat responded to an email I wrote regarding Zeb, a very cute looking black and white kitten, and so a meeting was arranged.  We were all very excited to meet him and as a result, he fitted in to our home very well.  Missy, our 5 year old cat, was very excited too (which is surprising as she snobs everyone!).  Adopting Zeb was a very quick and inexpensive process compared to the RSPCA and any pet shop.  Nat had also mentioned that if we ever had to go away that she would mind the cats for us so last Christmas she did for 4 weeks.  Zebby (as my 5 year old calls him) owned the place again with Missy choosing to hide under the couch.  When we arrived, my husband and I took a shinning to a very delicate little girl named Latte.  Nat told us that Latte hadn’t worked with her first family which instantly tugged at my heart strings.  My husband was in charge of picking up Missy and Zebby as we stayed on a little longer in NZ to spend more time with family.  When we arrived home I was asked to come and see this… walking into the kids play room I saw a very cute little girl sitting there in the middle of all the toys letting both boys pat her. “When I asked my husband who it was, he said “Latte… I thought you wanted her”.  Don’t you love it when men want something and we get the blame! But he was right… and Zebby and Latte are best mates.  Missy likes her too because Zebby doesn’t have to play with her anymore.  Zebby and Latte would have to be the nicest natured cats I have ever owned which must be due to them starting off very happy in their foster home.  Though I love the look of pedigree cats, the affection of an animal is what I need in life, and we certainly get it from our 3 cats!  Latte’s normal sleeping place is between my husband’s legs on the bed or on one of the kids beds.  And Zebby generally guards the food but will definitely come in for a cuddle when it’s colder.   I couldn’t imagine life without all of them, and I don’t want to.   Little Paws is such a fantastic group of loving people who care for beautiful animals.  You guys are doing a fantastic job!    Kirsty Wilson & Family.
