Sponsor a Cat

Would you like to help a rescued cat but are unable to care for one in your home?

Many of our cats require extended stays with their Little Paws Carer for various reasons such as age or health problems.  You can assist the carers by sponsoring a cat for $20.00 a month.  This amount will go towards the cat’s upkeep.  This would include things like food, litter, vet care and medications.  That’s less than 68 cents per day and the rewards for the cats are greater than you can imagine.  YOU CAN HELP GIVE HOPE AND LOVE TO THOSE THAT TRULY DESERVE IT.

Once you become a cat sponsor, you will receive details of your cat and a sponsorship certificate.  You will have the opportunity to visit your cat and even take it home one day if your circumstances change.

We currently have a very long list of cats and kittens that need sponsoring and We have listed below just a few of our current long term residents looking for sponsorship!   You can also contact our co-ordinators at any time for more information or email littlepawskr@gmail.com.

Please Fill out our Sponsorship Form if you see a kitty you would like to sponsor!

CATS LOOKING FOR SPONSORSHIP

Megan – 9 week old female kitten (pictured above)

Little Megan was just 6 weeks old when she came into Little Paws, found by the side of the road, covered in fleas and badly anaemic. Some kind soul mistakenly decided to give her a Capstar tablet for the fleas, and the chemicals were too strong for her little body, and by the time she came into us she was very sick, so weak she couldnt even stand up, and it was touch and go for 48 hours as to whether she would make it or not. It took her over a week to start to get better, but she did with a lot of TLC. However, her carer knew there was something not quite right still with her back legs, and after 3 vet visits, and eventually x rays, we found out that she has an old break to her femur and her leg isnt sitting properly in the socket to her hip bones. She may have been hit by a car, kicked or thrown to the ground…who knows?  She is too little to operate on yet, so she will stay in long term foster care until her expensive surgery can be carried out. If you would like to sponsor this poor little cat for $20 a month to help cover her vet costs, or would like to make a one off donation, please email littlepawskr@gmail.com

Monty 18 mth old Silver Spotted Tabby (Pictured below)

This is Monty and he is a long term Little Paws resident that is looking for sponsorship! Sponsorship is $20/month and goes towards Monty’s food, flea and worm treatements, and his general care. Monty came to little paws as a 3 month old kitten in a possum trapping cage. He had been trapped from a feral colony and was absolutely terrified! Monty is a very sweet and gentle cat but is still very scared of strangers! He has bonded with his foster mum and will happily let her pat him and do his flea and worming treatments. He is 18 months old now and happily living in foster carer but is unlikely to be available for adoption in the near future… if ever as he is just very very shy! We are looking for sponsorship for Monty.

Cell – 5yo Tortie female (Pictured Below)

Cell was surrendered to little paws at the age of 5 because her owner had gotten a younger kitten and didn’t want her anymore! Cell is in foster care and looking for a “forever” home but due to her age she will most likely be in foster care for quite some time and we are looking for a sponsor for her to help with some of her on-going costs. Cell is a great cat – friendly, easy going, and good with other animals. She would love an occasional visit from her sponsor for a pat!

Teeny – 9 month old female ragdoll x (pictured below)

Teeny was rescued in January 2011 from Logan Pound.  She was only ten days old and had four other litter mates.  Her mamma was a purebred ragdoll but was ever so thin.  Teeny was the smallest, weighing only 95 grams and was half the size of her siblings.  All bubs were very sick with cat flu and Teeny was so tiny, we though she wasn’t going to make it.  She was bottle fed by her surrogate foster mamma due to her size and illness, she was just too sick to compete for food with her other litter mates.  Teeny has now grown into a lovely healthy girl but due to her slight brain damage, she will live out her days with her Little Paws carer.  If you’d like to help sponsor this gorgeous little girl, please contact Lynde on 07-5543-6453 or email watsonn1@bigpond.com.au.

Flossie – fluffy torty female (pictured below)

Flossie was found in a park in Brisbane by a kind lady walking her dog.  She was being tormented by children, had tick paralysis and was pregnant.  After months of special treatment and care, she blossomed.  Her kittens were luckily born healthy, although Flossie suffers from Irritable Bowel Syndrome, and thus lives permanently with her carer.  She requires a special diet and with this, she is able to live a happy healthy life.  If you’d like more information about Flossie, contact Lynde on 07-5543-6453 or email watsonn1@bigpond.com.au.

Cleo – siamese female (pictured below)

Cleo was rescued from Logan Pound, very emaciated with a hernia and a cough, which got worse after the anaesthetic of her desexing operation.  This developed into pneumonia and Feline Asthma.  With lots of medication and nursing, Cleo is able to live a normal life, however she does experience severe flare-ups of asthma, so lives permanently with her carer.  If you’d like to help with the financial cost of Cleo’s medication and care, please phone Lynde on 07-5543-6453 or email watsonn1@bigpond.com.au.

Lucinda – approx. 12-15 year old female blue and cream torty girl (pictured below)

Lucinda was dumped at the pound by her owners who no longer wanted her.  This ancient girl is very independant and likes to sunbake in front of the window.  Lucinda tolerates her foster cat and dog siblings but prefers her own space.  We’re unsure if she has some old age senility issues so Lucinda will most likely stay with Little Paws unless someone very special comes along to take her on in her twilight years.  If Lucinda steals your heart and you’d like to help her, please text Tennille on 0450 785 861 or email tennille.cat@gmail.com.

Queenie – 1 year old DMH (pictured below)

Queenie is a ginger domestic medium hair desexed female.  Only approx. 12 months old and still a kitten herself.  She was rescued out of Logan Pound with her bubs who have all found homes.  Queenie was very sick with the flu and could not eat for 9 days.  She had fluids and lots of medication along with small amounts of nutrient rich food force fed to keep her  alive.  It really was a terrible time for her and we didn’t think she would survive.  Queenie is still suffering bouts of sneezing and isn’t available for adoption until she’s healthy.   Please contact Lynde if you’re interested in sponsoring this pretty lil survivor.  Lynde on 07-5543-6453 or email watsonn1@bigpond.com.au.

Moksey – 2yo DSH (pictured below)

This masked scallywag with stunning bluey-green eyes is Smokey the Bandit, affectionately known as MOKSEY.He is a 2-year-old grey and white moggie, with a cute pink nose that darkens when he is being cheeky!  Moksey came to Little Paws at 6 months of age when his Little Paws’ carer found him abandoned, meowing and frightened.  Moksey has painful problems with his tail, and is terrified of men and children.  He has special needs, and has found lasting love and safety with his Little Paws’ carer.

Foxy – 6 month old female DMH

FOXY is a 6-month-old speckled kitten, “dark auburn” in colour – the fluffy glamour-puss of the ginger Redcliffe Rascals.  She is the only one of the litter with beautiful long fur and brown eyes.  Foxy and her brother and 4 sisters were rescued from a dangerous life on Redcliffe’s busy streets when they were about 2 months old.  Foxy was wild and terrified – a real spitfire.  It took months for her to allow her Little Paws’ carer to touch her, but now Foxy is slowly learning to trust and accept unconditional love

. Wattle – 6 month old DSH Ginger (pictured below)

WATTLE is a spotted and striped ginger tabby kitten, with olive green eyes and a “W” (for Wattle!) on her forehead.  She is 6 months old, and is the “little terrorist” of the ginger Redcliffe Rascals.  She and her brother and 4 sisters were rescued from a dangerous life on Redcliffe’s busy streets when they were about 2 months old.  Wattle was wild and very frightened – totally unused to people.  She is learning to trust, and her rumbly purr is very cute!

Marmaduke – 6 month old DSH ginger male – (pictured below)

MARMADUKE (DUKE for short) is a spotted and striped ginger tabby kitten, with hazel eyes and long, tufted pixie-like ears.  He is the self-appointed Boss of the ginger Redcliffe Rascals.  Duke and his 5 sisters (now 6 months old) were rescued from a dangerous life on Redcliffe’s busy streets when they were about 2 months old.  Duke was wild and very frightened, but fiercely protective of his slightly smaller sisters.  He is learning to trust, and his big boofy V8 purrs are very encouraging!  Duke continues to boss and protect his sisters, who are now much smaller than he is!

Cherry – 6 month old DSH Ginger female (pictured below)

CHERRY is the apricot and cream coloured member of the ginger Redcliffe Rascals.  She is 6 months old, has a speckled coat, beautiful hazel eyes, and cute little freckles on her pink nose!  She and her brother and 4 sisters were rescued from a dangerous life on Redcliffe’s busy streets when they were about 2 months old.  Cherry was wild and very frightened – totally unused to human contact – but is slowly learning to trust.  Cherry is the “snoozy” kitten of the litter and can usually be found in bed or lying on a chair.  She and her sister, Hillary, are inseparable, and spend most of their time sleeping together, or sadly, suckling on each other for reassurance.

Marmalade – 6 month old DSH (pictured below)

Marmalade, also known as LADY MARMEE, is “dark auburn” in colour, and is a speckled member of the ginger Redcliffe Rascals.  She is lady-like (hence her nickname) and her eyes are deep dark hazel pools.  She and her brother and 4 sisters (now 6 months old) were rescued from a dangerous life on Redcliffe’s busy streets when they were about 2 months old.  Marmee was wild and very frightened – totally unused to people – but is slowly learning to trust.  She is very inquisitive, and sometimes rewards her carer with snugly koala cuddles!

Hillary – 6 month old DSH (pictured below)

HILLARY is a 6-month-old “auburn” coloured speckled kitten with hazel eyes.  She is the most adventurous member of the ginger Redcliffe Rascals troupe.  Hillary was named after another adventurer, Sir Edmund Hillary, because she loves to climb and was the first of her litter to start exploring and allow human contact.  She and her brother and 4 sisters were rescued from a dangerous life on Redcliffe’s busy streets when they were about 2 months old.  Hillary was very frightened but is slowly learning to trust.  She loves chasing flies, and rallies the rest of the troupe, with her fly-chattering talk, to help her catch them!  Hillary and her sister, Cherry, are inseparable, and can usually be found sleeping together, or sadly, suckling on each other for reassurance.
