The Little Paws Kitten Rescue Association is a caring team of people throughout Brisbane, the Gold and Sunshine Coasts, Ipswich and the Downs areas that help little orphaned, older kittens and mamma cats that need TLC. We have rescued a number of severely abused cats and cared for them until they are well enough to be placed in a new home.

Our goal is to help as many kittens and cats as possible to find loving secure homes so that they can have peace and contentment throughout their lives and we aim to teach the public about the responsible ownership of cats and kittens. We are also an active group in the Cat Showing Arena with many of our rescued cats becoming Champions!

Little Paws is a NO KILL non-profit organisation funded wholly by donations and fundraising events (such as the Charity Cat Shows) and we rely on the public’s generosity to continue our important work. All funds raised go directly to the care and upkeep of the cats and kittens. We exist thanks to the kind hearted folks who donate, sponsor and help foster the cats and kittens we take on.

If you have room in your home and heart, please consider adopting one of our cats or kittens in need of a loving forever home.

Like to help?

The pleasure to be had in a cat’s company – even one you’ve only just met – is immeasurable.  Most are so grateful for your love and time, it gives a warm glow to your heart… As the kitties climb all over you, licking you with their rough tongues, smooching up to you and rolling over for a belly tickle, it’s truly impossible not to smile.

Can you open up your home to a foster cat?  Can you take a great photo? Write a fantastic pet profile? Are you a designer, photographer or website developer?  Can you run a sausage sizzle or garage sale?  Can you transport cats to vet appointments or foster homes? WE NEED YOU!

ROLES: Volunteers can assist in office administration work, photography, general maintenance, cat grooming and care, cleaning, feeding, administering flea and worm treatments, transport, gardening, fundraising and cuddle mammas to provide love & affection to our kitties!!

VOLUNTEER PROFILE: Reliable, honest, confident and gentle with animals with empathetic nature.  No experience of working with cats is required, but a genuine desire to relate with and care for animals is essential. Volunteers must be happy to work as part of a team and carry out instructions.  Be prepared to get down and dirty!!

COMMITMENT: We welcome all volunteers, whatever your availability: contact us to arrange what suits us both. For regular volunteers: two shifts available – 9:30am to 11:30am or  1:30pm to 3:30pm at our head quarters at Capalaba.  Consistency is vital as team chores are dependent on numbers of volunteers who are rostered to attend .  Fund raising activities are also held from time to time such as BBQs, raffles, garage sales, etc.
